4,500 milestone reached! That’s the number of Vietnam War Army helicopter NAMES tabulated to date. Topping the list is “Iron Butterfly”, with a commanding lead over “Patches” in second place. It’s anyone’s guess if there are more to find. Surfing the Internet and Facebook these many years has produced the majority of the found names but these sources are quickly drying up. The search continues…….

The 271st ASHC arrived in CanTho in February, 1968. First Hook was Mother Goose; Tail #126 but was shot down and totally destroyed. Looking for my hero was a 1Lt at the time, last name was Thompson. Landed a burning Hook with no loss of life.

I came across a VFW magazine story Feb 2020 about Pfc Garfield M. Langhorn having been awarded the MOH for his actions with C Troop, 7th/17th Cav out of Pleiku on Jan 15 1969. I was assigned to 7th/17th Cav, 17th Avn Group in 1972 as air traffic controller out of Ninh Hoa, Khanh Hoa Province during my 4th tour in country. I am most proud to have been part of the 7th/17th esp now knowing of the heroism of Pfc Langhorn. So glad he hasnt been forgotten after so many years.

I'm looking for anyone who knew or served with my husband, William (Bill) Tignor. He died in May 2018 and all I know he was a gunner on helicopters and he has patch on his hat I have with 1st Avn Bde in Vietnam. He was in Vietnam 1966-1967 and 1969-1970. I have nothing as fast as pictures or any other info, I do have his DD 214's but to me it's like reading Greek😞.
I really hope someone has info but would love copies of pictures anyone has. Thank everyone for reading. God bless you all.
