I served in Vietnam 1966 to 1967 as a machine gunner in the 180th ASLT SUPT HEL CO 9 CH-47.
I was the gunner in 007.
I'm was born in Cuba and at the time I did not have my citizenship but was proud to serve.
Looking at the photos decided to look on the web and found this site.
I don't know where my fellow gunner are know days but I would like to wish them all a happy veterans day.

I was the door gunner for Lt Col Archie Ryder in HHT for the 2nd/17th mostly in 1971. The guy was fabulous. Even sung "Happy Birthday" to me over the helicopter intercom on a mission in September, 1971. Lt Col Butler who came next was a great guy as well. Been trying to track down Charley Porter from Louisiana, but no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

The pic you have of the crew chief on the pilons is of (Sp) Tutssahara.
He liked to get on the pilons so he could shot under the tail boom. I rode right door and preferred getting out on the skids.
