Comments: So very fortunate flying U21's based in Long Thanh. Most missions were flying out of Saigon to "anyplace" having an airfield in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand
I so often remember my 3 best Rucker Flight School buddies from Rucker. All three were killed in their first 3-months flying "Bird Dogs." I consider all to be heros and offer a sincere salute.

Comments: Just found your web page and want to commend you on a job well done. Have several slides of my tour as operations officer to B Troop would be willing to share them if wanted. Time is taking its tole on them but could be used. Would like to hear from anyone who served during 69-70 and be brought up to par with what is happening with the unit. Am life member of VHPA and attended the Orlando reunion last year but saw nothing in display areas from the Blackhawks or dutchmasters. Thanks for the web provided. Sincerely
Larry Hudson, 03 B Troop 1/7 Air Cav

Comments: I have been trying to locate and communicate with one of our crewchiefs', another, believe it or not, SP/4? Richard Doke. I have read of at least one ariel incident that Doke was involved in with the 498th Med evac. I was a crewchief at the same time frame as he was, although I was assigned to the 119th AHC as a Huey mechanic in An Khe from August 70 - Dec 70, then down to Tay Ninh as crewchief with the 187th AHC through August 71. I retired from the Nevada Army National Guard in 1996 with the rank of Major. As far as I can assertain, there are only 7 Richard Doke's in the entire USA, what were the chances that two of us were in Viet Nam at the same time frame and both as crewchief's of Huey's? I would really like to communicate with him and if you can help I would be very gratefull. Thanks, Rick Doke
