I was a squad leader with the 3/60 9th Div, on the ships, 12-68 to 7-69. Rode the Vultures daily. You guys were great, even though a little nuts!!!

"Sweet Charlotte" was often my bird and just wanted to say thanks!!

Learning to fly RC Helis in retirement - very challenging.

I too was stationed at Tuy Hoa with the 180th ASHC. I arrived in June of 1971. As a SP-5 I was given my own maintenance team but like you it was boring. I put in for flight platoon and was immediately an FE. I was assigned 008 as my helicopter.

My father, Larrie C. Kline, served with the army and did his tour in Vietnam from 1965-66. He served with the E Battery, 82nd Artillery, First Calvary Division. He was a crew chief on one of the hueys. My father passed away this past Sunday, on February 24th. We will bury him on Friday with military honors. He was proud to serve his country. If anyone knows him, you may remember that he painted some of the 1st Calvary insignias on some of the hueys. God Bless our Veterans and God Bless the USA!
