I served with the 11th ARmored Cav in ‘67, was severely wounded and I’m here today because of the brave crew of a medi-vac chopper. I’ve been in a ptsd group with guys who were door gunners, and crew members of Hueys. I have the deepest respect for their service to our service members and country.

Loved seeing the pages here. My Dad was a Huey pilot in Vietnam. Also an instructor in I believe Fort Rucker and Ft. Wolters. I know my family lived in both places. He is Retired Lt. Col. Victor A. Johnson,now at 86 years old. He has many stories to tell and will talk anyones ears off. Love him.

I served at Soc Trang from June1964 to August1964 I crewed a Viking gunship and yes we did wear black t-shirts. I would have stayed in if it wasn't for the war. I would have loved to go to pilot and learned how to fly a HUEY.

I am the son of SFC (possibly MSGT by the time he was assigned to the 240th) Joseph A. Pahl who served in RVN sometime during 68 - 71. Although he passed in 2002, I have come across a 240th Unit flag that was in my mother’s belongings (she recently passed also). Was wondering if it would mean anything to a former member?

i was in the unit in 1972 until the end of the war and flew the last scout mission. i also took the pics you have on your website of the interview with the BBC and then young ED Bradley. i was also in the overflight of Loch's trailing smoke and have more pics.
those were black and white pics because i was developing them in the dark room we had.
i was a door gunner but cant remember my Loch's tail number but it had a pic of a vulture on the engine door that said "VC Birth Control"

are you the person asking for photos of personalized helicopters in Vietnam? If so, what are you going to do with them and what are we going to get out of it? I have many photos of my Vietnam tour. Helicopters, hooch photos,
our female workers, going home parties, Vietnam terrains,
landed areas waiting for deployments. I had other more graphic photos, but a Sergeant took my film.
my tour put me right in the middle of the TET offensive. And Phu Loi was at the heart "supposedly". I created the largest M-5 system "Frog system" in Vietnam while I was there with the "GUNSLINGERS". And I created that painted picture of Yosemite Sam from a cool-aid package I received from home.

Mr. Loomis, if I am noting to you, I was the Spec 5 who was the crew chief head of the LOH platoon, 163rd Aviation Company from July, 1968 to July, 1969. I well remember watching Jimmy Stewart land at our pad that day. You may remember Mr. Harris, nicknamed littleman, Bill Rosser, and other OH-6 pilots from that period. I was privileged to fly with these men and others during that time. Memories!
