Comments: I served in the AH1G Training Team in Vung Tau. The unit was brand new in March 1969. We were attached to the 147th Assult Support Helicopter Co. The AH1G Training Team was directly under control of USARV. I arrived mid March 1969 as a Cobra crew chief and rotated home mid March 1970. There is a great book available (which I am in) called VIETNAM MAILBAG. The book is full of over 1000 letters written to the Wilmington News Journal about the Vietnam war. Unlike other books written about the war there is no authors bias because the book is full of many different points of view. It is an excellent overview of the war starting 1968 and till 1972.

Comments: Looking for anyone in the USAF 40th Helo Squadron, Vietnam 1970-71, stationed in Ton Son Nunt. I was a Helo Pilot; Most knew me as "FOX" and my Gunner (Bill ilensworth) as Kilroy. I participated in Ivory Coast. Our commander was W.C. Fields. I haven't found anyone anywhere on the internet that seemed to survive or that's still alive from 40th Squ. Please contact me if you remember us or know of "Fields". Just received my DD214 & VA Card, 6 months ago. Took me aprox 54 years to get them. My records are sealed and still can't get my records. Thank you.
