Approximately 30May72 give or take 3-4 days at Holloway. Have you ever wondered what a Brand New Snake smells like? This one smelled just like a new car. Too bad it only lasted a little over one month.... direct hit next to back-seat collective handle by a rocket while doing 130 knots at 300 feet agl. The guy in the photo is Chuck Scribner, my platoon leader... Naturally, when we got this bird, it became his. That is until our XO was KIA and Chuck became XO. The guy flying it when it was destroyed was WO1 Roger Lone

Why my VHF radio quit working during an otherwise uneventful day. The avionics man found a 45 cal slug in the radio. Hmmm... "friendly" fire from an ARVN trooper? Very likely.
